Meet the Founder

Building something beautiful for dogs on the coast.

Hi, I'm Karina Artau, the founder and face behind The Coastal Dog Society.

I have been around pets my entire life, but dogs have always held a sacred place in my heart. There is something about their unconditional loyalty, innocence, boundless joy, and the way they trust us completely that has always moved me.

My own little dog, Milo, deepened that devotion even further. Every single day, he reminds me how deeply our four-legged companions depend on us for safety, patience, gentle protection, and love.

“This isn't just about cute dog photos. It is about genuine connection, compassion, and real community action.”

I created The Coastal Dog Society to bring Walton County and the Emerald Coast together with purpose. We are blessed with countless dog parents, animal lovers, and welcoming local businesses—and I wanted to unite that coastal energy into a supportive local movement.
